Adelphi AAUP’s primary focus is on representing faculty
during contract negotiations. But there’s a lot more to the

Advising on Tenure and Contract Rights
We’re not just around during emergencies. Adelphi AAUP can
answer your questions about reappointment and tenure
procedures, salary and health benefits or other contract
terms throughout the year.
Putting You in Touch With the Experts
When you have a tough question, Adelphi AAUP wants you to
talk to the best. If we can’t give you all of the
information we think you should have, we’ll put you in
contact with the right people to tell you what’s what. We
work with you to get you what you need. If necessary, we
can draw on experts from around the country to help.
Reaching Out to Decision Makers
Whether it’s a letter-writing campaign to public officials,
or working with the Long Island Coalition on issues of
local interest, or a timely interview with key journalists,
Adelphi AAUP gets our messages across to the people who
need to hear them.
Academic Freedom
AAUP fights to ensure that faculty members are free to
exchange ideas and thoughts without retribution or
repercussions. In classrooms, in libraries, in offices, in
meetings, AAUP strives to secure intellectual freedom for
all members.
